pro:woman AWARD 2012

Das pro:woman Ambulatorium / Zentrum für Vasektomie vergibt einen bundesweiten Preis für hervorragende wissenschaftliche Arbeiten, die auf dem Gebiet der Familienplanung, der Verhütung, dem Schwangerschaftsabbruch und sexueller Rollenbilder forschen.

Eingereicht werden können österreichische wissenschaftliche Publikationen (wie Master- und Diplomarbeiten, Dissertationen, Monographien, Veröffentlichungen in wissenschaftlichen Publikationsorganen und Fachzeitschriften sowie aus laufenden Forschungsprojekten) aus den Jahren 2009 bis 2011.

Den Ehrenschutz trägt die Bundesministerin für Frauen und öffentlichen Dienst, Gabriele Heinisch-Hosek.

Der Award wird in folgenden vier Fachbereichen mit einem Preisgeld von je Euro 2.000 vergeben:

– pro:woman AWARD 2012 für Medizin
– pro:woman AWARD 2012 für Psychologie und Pädagogik
– pro:woman AWARD 2012 für Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft
– pro:woman AWARD 2012 für Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften

Erstmalig wird im Rahmen des pro:woman Awards unter allen einreichenden TeilnehmerInnen ein Sonderpreis der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Familienplanung (ÖGF) vergeben.

Der pro:woman AWARD 2012 mit ÖGF-Sonderpreis wird im Rahmen einer öffentlichen Preisverleihung vergeben.

Ausschreibung Johanna-Dohnal-Förderpreis und Johanna-Dohnal-Stipendium 2012

Johanna-Dohnal-Förderpreise werden vergeben an Studentinnen bzw. Absolventinnen von Hochschulen und Universitäten für Diplomarbeiten oder Dissertationen (egal in welchem Stadium sich diese befinden), welche die Verwirklichung von Geschlechterdemokratie fördern und eine Vorbildwirkung auf Mädchen und Frauen in Ausbildung und Studium haben. DasJohanna-Dohnal-Stipendium, das 2012 ebenfalls vergeben werden wird, unterliegt denselben Kriterien, es richtet sich aber speziell an Dissertantinnen.

The Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies Grant and Fellowship Programs 2012

The Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies (BIAAS) offers grants and a fellowship to promote an understanding of the historic relationship between Austria and the United States. BIAAS Grant Program 2012
BIAAS seeks grant proposals for projects aimed at promoting an understanding of the historic relationship between the United States and Austria in the fields of history, politics, economics and law.
Grant proposals that further the Institute’s mission will also be accepted in the fields of literature, poetry, music and translations. Grant proposals may include support for related lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences and documentaries. Grant proposals for salary replacement will not be considered. Grants will not exceed $25,000 unless a compelling case is made for a larger grant.
Grant proposals must be submitted by March 31, 2012. Applicants will be notified of the result of their application in July 2012. Grants will be distributed on or before September 1, 2012. A final report will be due within ninety days after the completion date of the award period.

BIAAS Fellowship 2012
BIAAS is accepting applications for the Botstiber Fellowship in Austrian-American Studies. The fellowship will be awarded to a scholar or professional who seeks funds for a project that promotes an understanding of the historic relationship between Austria and the United States. A grant of up to $30,000 will be considered for support for salary, travel, or other necessary expenses. Applications from (i) graduate students, (ii) early-career professionals and (iii) mid-career professionals will be accepted.
Grant applications must be submitted by March 31, 2012. Applicants will be notified of the result of their applications in June 2012. Distribution of the grant may occur within a two-year period thereafter.
