Objectives of the Conference

The Annual Conference is a forum for the discussion of current research. It brings together junior and senior political scientists from Austria and beyond. This year the theme of the conference is The Liberal World at the Crossroads.

The theme of the conference invites contributions from all fields within political science, including Austrian politics, comparative politics, European Union politics, international relations, political methodology and political theory, utilizing the full range of methodological approaches.

This being a general conference, papers and pre-organized panels are not limited to the theme of the conference. All submissions will be considered.

Call for Proposals

Submission guidelines:

• Abstract length: max. 300 words
• Content: the abstract should detail the topic, research question, theoretical framework, methodology, contribution and (expected) findings
• Language: The primary conference language is English. Submissions in German are welcome but may be placed in English-speaking panels. Discussant comments and questions from the audience are expected to be in English
• Panel proposals: We invite panel proposals of pre-organized panels. They should not exceed 4 papers, contain participants from different institutions and genders. Submissions require abstracts from all papers. Please do not submit papers separately
