Eva Kreisky plays an enormously important role in the establishment of political science in Austria – especially in the areas of state and institutional theory, political theory and the history of ideas, and the politics of gender relations. Eva Kreisky was very involved in the ÖGPW from the very beginning and was head of the Institute of Political Science at the University of Vienna for numerous years.

Prof. Dr. Heinrich NEISSER

Heinrich Neisser is a former ÖVP politician, Club Chairman, Federal Minister, and second President of the National Council. In 1989 he became an Honorary Professor of Political Science at the University of Vienna and between 1999 and 2007 he was the Jean Monnet Chair at the Department of Political Science at the University of Innsbruck.

Prof. Dr. Anton PELINKA

Anton Pelinka is an ÖGPW founding member and was ÖGPW chairman from 1970 to 1971 and 1984 to 1985. He was a Professor of Political Science at the University of Innsbruck (1975-2006), and since 2006 has been a Professor of Political Science and Nationalism Studies at the Central European University in Budapest.
